    We test to ASTM D543 and ISO 175, immersing a cured sample in the specified reagent at a defined temperature for a set duration. We then measure weight change, dimensional change, and retention of hardness or mechanical strength against the unexposed baseline. A resin that passes on weight change alone but loses significant strength has still failed the practical test, which is why we report strength retention, not just mass uptake.

    There isn’t a single best chemistry across every reagent. Aromatic and cycloaliphatic resin systems with high crosslink density resist chemical penetration, swelling and plasticisation broadly, and that’s our default for most chemical-resistant epoxy resin formulations. Aggressive chlorinated solvents such as carbon tetrachloride can still swell a network that handles acids and alcohols comfortably.

    Usually, yes, within limits. Most grades cover acids, alcohols and fuels simultaneously, since high crosslink density resists swelling across several chemical classes at once. Chlorinated solvents and high-concentration polar reagents can exceed that shared resistance envelope and require grade-specific immersion data 

    Yes, and it’s one of the most commonly overlooked variables in a resistance spec. Chemical attack accelerates with temperature, since heat increases both the rate of diffusion into the resin and the rate of reaction between the chemical and the polymer network. We test and report resistance data at the temperature your application actually runs at.

    Yes. Our chemical-resistant formulations are available in structural adhesive, potting compound and coating viscosities. The same validated resistance profile carries through, however your process applies it, whether dispensed as a structural bond line, cast as a potting compound, or applied as a protective coating.
